Our Roots
The origin of the name “Oswal” is tied to a small village in the Jodhpur District of the Indian State of Rajasthan called Osianor Ossiya. There was once a large city at the site of Ossiya (Osian). The ancient names by which this city was known at various times were Uplesh Pattan, Urkesh, Melpur Pattan and Navmeri. Upkeshpattan is said to be analogous to such a town situated about 32 miles northwest of Jodhpur. It was home to a Jain monastic order called Upakesh Gachchha (which is now extinct) belonging to the Svetambara Jain tradition.

Co-operation
Collaboration and cooperation form the basis of a community. Through cooperation, we find ways to collectively address problems and help the community grow. All these decades later too we believe that through connection and assistance, we foster ways to mutually benefit one another and always be on hand to support each other.
Education
Education is the bedrock of a community’s vision for growth. At AVJOS, our spirit of cooperation drives us to aspire for sound education opportunities for all our members. The samaj recognises that this may not be possible in some cases. The vision of our founding members and the subsequent generations of members has always factored in those who might need financial assistance in their educational pursuits and has made provision for the same.
Medical
The success of a community also lies in its ability to look after each other. Therefore, the health of its members gains paramount importance for us all. Within the motto of AJVOS is the desire to ensure wellness and wellbeing of its members; especially for those who may not be able to easily afford it. Like its assistance for academic endeavours, AJVOS also has provisions for financially assisting those in need of medical intervention.
